NFC.    All five playoff teams are settled.  The only unsettled drama is who will be the Central Division champ.  Buffalo and Rural Hall are tied and both favored in their regular season finales.  If both win or both lose, the title goes to Buffalo because of a better record in games played within their division.

2011 UFE General Manager of the Year Award

The NFL end of season player awards provide a fun opportunity to see how UFE executives are doing on the team-building side of the job.  In a somewhat crude but objective measurement attempt, I made up a point system based on the AP and PFWA voting.  All-Pro selections receive 3 points; 2 points for any players named to All-NFC, All-AFC, Second Team All-Pro, and All-Rookie teams; 1 point for additional players recognized by PFW Rookie Meter and a bonus point for offensive and defens...

With just one-quarter of the 2011 season left to be played, there are sixteen teams with a chance to land one of the ten league playoff spots. Let's take a look at how it will play out.

NFC East.   After a 3-4 start, Hudson County (7-6) had won four of five to sneak up to a game behind Lenox Hill (8-4) going into this week's action.  Even though Lenox has lost two in a row, Hudson's close loss to BB this week means they ar...

2011 Draft: Whose Scouts are Getting Bonuses?

First off, if you haven't done so already, you might want to take a look at the box score from San Pedro at Buffalo, last week's game of the week.  Buffalo wins 35-34 and the final quarter looks like it had to be insane for both coaches. Down 24-21 with 8:35 to play and facing 4th and 7 from his own 14 yard line, Coach Bill, in what might be described as unconventional strategy, goes for it and and fails to convert when Josh Freeman's pass to Jeremy Maclin falls incomplete. Two plays lat...

Week 7 Games of the Week

We are six weeks into the 2011 season and some interesting division races are taking shape. Two up and coming NFC teams demonstrated that they are ready to challenge the traditional powerhouses by making a flurry of trade deadline moves. San Pedro upgraded their O-line and secondary by acquiring center Alex Mack and safety Yeremiah Bell. Meanwhile Buffalo added running back Jamaal Charles to create an imposing backfield tandem with LeSean McC...

2011 Season Preview - The Party's in the Hall

The experts in Vegas have fed the data into their sophisticated computer modeling machines and have come up with highly dubious predictions for how the eighth season in UFE history will turn out. With apologies to Rural Hall for jinxing what would be their first ever title, here are the projected results, with regular season victory totals in parenthesis.

NFC East:  Hudson County (14), Lenox Hill (7), Canton (7), Etna (3)

NFC Central:...

2010 Season: Won-Loss Items Worth Noting

The conclusion of the 2010 season marks the seventh year of the UFE league's existence, and with that, some interesting team won-loss milestones deserve recognition.

-  New Jersey's perfect 16-0 record marks only the second time in league history that feat has been accomplished. Lenox Hill was perfect in 2006, capping their season with the UFE Bowl III trophy.

-  Two teams whose owners hav...
