We are six weeks into the 2011 season and some interesting division races are taking shape. Two up and coming NFC teams demonstrated that they are ready to challenge the traditional powerhouses by making a flurry of trade deadline moves. San Pedro upgraded their O-line and secondary by acquiring center Alex Mack and safety Yeremiah Bell. Meanwhile Buffalo added running back Jamaal Charles to create an imposing backfield tandem with LeSean McCoy. Charles is the current league leader in rushing yards and McCoy is 7th. Coincidentally, those two teams face off this week to top the week 7 games of the week.
San Pedro (5-1) at Buffalo (4-2). After a heartbreaking last second loss to Harlow last week, Buffalo needs this one in order to stay within reach of division leader Rural Hall. San Pedro is also coming off a loss, their first of the year. They had been allowing slightly over 7 points a game through the first 5 weeks, but last week Aaron Rodgers and the 10th AD lit them up for 38.
BB (4-2) at Rural Hall (5-1). The Bombers start a brutal stretch of games that could make or break their season. Over the next five weeks they have this game followed by contests with Buffalo, Canton, San Pedro and Frostburg.
Frostburg (4-2) at Sheraden (4-2). Sheraden has won 4 in a row, but trading away Charles for a package that includes two first round draft picks might be an indicator that the Mustangs' front office is looking at a long term team building strategy to challenge the Jawbreakers in the West.
